Annual Work Report of AICMEU

For the year 2006 - 07

 

We hereby present a brief Work Report of the organization from April 2006 to March 2007. The report has been prepared considering the work plan review as well. Resources including Time are always a constraint for Social Engineers. Optimum utilization of available resources is the key to success.

A. Organizational Development

           

Report A-1

Review of AICMEU’s 22 Year Performance’ was made by the members present in the governing board’s meeting held on Saturday, 9th December 2006 to enable them formulate “AICMEU’s Vision, Mission and Mission Methodology”. The follow up meeting is due depending on availability of trustees on a specific date and place.

 

Report A-2

The revision of Zonal Committees is on. The East Zone Committee (EZC) has already been formulated with the following members –

 

1. Mr. M. Shah Alam, convener of the committee Leading Social Activist and Director, Amanat Foundation.

2. Mr. M. Hanif, Leading Businessman and Editor, Rahbar-e-Sanat-o-Tejarat.

3. Dr.M.A. Mabud, MBA, Leading Professional and Director, Management Dev. Centre.

4. Mr. M. Tariq, CA, Professional and Social Worker.

5. Mr. Parwaiz Anjum, Journalist and Leading Social Worker.

6. Dr. M. Rahman, Renound Medical Practioner and Social Worker of North Bengal.

7. Mr. Jalaluddin Ahmed, Social Worker and Youth Activist.

 

The East Zone covers West Bengal, Assam, Orissa, Bihar, Jharkhand, Manipur and Tripura. Consultation for formation of Committees for other Zones is on.

 

There have been following changes in departmental committees in the last meeting of AICMEU’s Governing Board.

 

 Mr. Mukhtar Hussain has been appointed as Chairman of AICMEU’s Industrial Training Centre while Mr. Sayed Hasan Akbar is the new Chairman for AICMEU’s Scholarship Division w.e.f. 12.8.2006.

           

Report A-3

To avoid any sort of confusion, and reduce cross verifications under the FCRA application form (column 5) we denied being a publisher and printer of any newsletter. So, before we apply for renewal of Newsletter’s title and restart publication of newsletter; we should ensure that it may not affect the FCRA recognition.

 

Report A-4

In order to promote new membership, we have developed website of the organization viz. www.aicmeu.org ; it provides information about objectives, schemes, services and beneficiaries of AICMEU. We are in the process of starting online membership as well.

                                                                                                        

 

Report A-5

The plan to create a pool of additional human resources from just retired Professors / Govt. Officials / Bank Personals etc. was not given due attention and thus any notable progress was not observed.

 

B. Employment Information and Vocational Guidance

 

Report B-1

Necessary changes have been made in the features of www.login4job.com to access the information about vacancies and to view resume profile of suitable job applicants. Now any applicant can view daily updates of vacancies through Khaleej Times and Employment News Weekly, Govt. of India. Similarly employers can directly view resume profiles of registered candidates and call job applicants of their choice.

 

Report B-2

We have already mobilized 199 registered contact persons / organizations as Job Info Centres for www.login4job.com; further development in this regard is expected with revision of Zonal Committees.

 

Report B-3

During April 2006 to March 2007, at www.login4job.com there were 2542 hits by visitors and 174 new jobseekers have registered with our portal. This has accumulated total registered Jobseekers to 9085 against the target of 20,000 by 31 March, 2007. Last year 40 new employers added 716 new vacancies to the system, while the database programme has generated 1501 probable match results on the base of user’s qualification, trade, designation and experience record and flashed e mail messages to employers and jobseekers.  By 31st March 2007 the database registered total 588 Employers against the target of 1000.    

 

Report B-4

The placement Club membership scheme is due for revision. Meanwhile, the vacancies from abroad especially from UAE have been arranged through website of Khaleej Times. Moreover the updates of job opportunities by Employment News website is also maintained at ‘Vacancies’ pages at our website www.login4job.com

 

Report B-5

The standard form to generate ‘Online Printable Resume’ for Jobseekers is being finalized in consultation with HR experts. However offline Resume Developer is available with our HR Consultant at Head office. The month wise statistical report of AICMEU’s Employment Information and Vocational Guidance Centre during the year 2006-07 is as below –

C. Educational Development

 

Report C-1

Study and data collection in this regard has been initiated and hopefully by the end of August 2007, we will be able to compile the “Guidebook on Career Guidance” for online publication on our websites www.aicmeu.org and www.login4job.com

 

Report C-2

Despite some efforts there has been no realization of funds for purchase of land & constructions of 4 classrooms & a computer lab at Iqra Model school.  

 

Report C-3

The support of administration, management and man hours is continued for Indian Literacy Mission, for the development of Sadia Public School at Mumbra, Thane.

 

Report C-4

With the objective to improve the teaching and learning environment of educational institutions under care of AICMEU, following steps were taken up.

 

a.      Mr. Mukhtar Khan with 20 years experience as Principal of ITI, has been appointed as the Principal of AICMEU’s Industrial Training Institute, sparing Mr. Shabbir Usmani for teaching Electrician trade at AITC, Trombay.  And after Mr. Mukhtar Khan left the ITI for his personal reasons, we appointed Mr. Shahabahat Hussain as new Principal w.e.f. 1st of February, 2007

 

b.      The lecture room of RAC Trade at AITC, Trombay been separated from practical workshop with brick wall.

 

c.      More office furniture, tools and equipments have been added in both Electrician and RAC Trade at AITC, Trombay.

 

d.      To add new trade of MMV at AITC, application has been submitted to concerned office for recognition from ensuing academic session of 2007-08. Most of the required tools and equipments have been procured from the grants of Maulana Aza Education Foundation, New Delhi.

 

e.      Mr. Abdur Rehman has been appointed as new principal in place of Mohammad Basheer to look after Iqra Model School.

 

D. Scholarships

 

Report D-1

Working cooperation has been extended to the following organizations.

 

1.      Financial and Administrative support to CCI have been extended for its formation.

2.      Helped MET to announce and distribute application forms for IDB loan Scholarship Programme.

3.      Distributed application forms and conducted test for FSC Scholarship Programme

4.      Helped Sahayta Trust Hyderabad in making Adahi and distribute meats among poors living in slums of Greater Mumbai.

Report D-3

During 1st April 2006 to 31st March 2007, total amount of Rs. 96,000/- been recovered from Eight ASD Graduates. By end of March 2007, ASD has produced 109 graduates with following batch years.

Report D-4

The update of current addresses of ASD Graduates is on. This will be followed up by meetings of ASD Graduates to develop the forums.

 

Report D-5

Mr. Khan Riyazur Rehman is collecting data for ‘Scholarship Guidebook’ to be published online at www.aicmeu.org.   

 

E. Technical Education and Training

 

Report E-1

Tools, Machineries & Equipments have been purchased for Motor Mechanic Vehicle trade and application submitted for approval of trade w.e.f. from August 2007.

 

Report E-2

The plan to design Special Computer courses suitable for Madarsa Educated students / Maulvies for skill promotion has to be reviewed after study of Prime Minister’s High Level Committee. As there are chances of developing new courses / modules by Govt. institutions after the committee submits its report, we may need not to start a separate module / course for this target group.

 

Report E-3

Efforts are being made to develop the ‘Service Centre’ at AITC. The AITC Chairman Mr. Mukhatr Hussain paid special attention to it and made weekly visits to AITC to ensure that management is fully supporting the staff to run the service Centre. Despite of all managerial efforts, the staff could not start the said service centre.

 

Report E-4

Two new Computers and one three in one colour printer with facility to scan and copy have been added to the stock of AICMEU’s J. R. Career centre. Efforts are on the way acquire additional computers.  Efforts were also made to mobilize outside job work for students. This particular task was assigned to Mr. Imran Aly, who did not work.

                                                                                                                   

Report E-4

Thirteen sewing machines along with one embroidery machine have been received by AICMEU’s J. R. Career Centre, donated by a philanthropist for community welfare. These machines are being used for ladies tailoring classes. Currently there are 8 girl students in this tailoring class.

 

F. Zakah Movement

 

Report F-1

The proposed plan to develop network of 1000 members for Tehrik E Zakah India to promote the cause of revival of Zakah institution and promotion of organized and effective use of Zakah funds through out the country is linked up with development of database programme for socially active persons and NGOs of India, and will be taken up along with the project of data collection of 3000 NGO’s of India.

 

Report F-2

Two thousand copies of booklet entitled Zakat and Baitulmal were published and distributed among potential Zakat Payers during Ramdhan. Moreover the Literature on Zakat Administration has also been published online at www.aicmeu.org for free access by internet readers. 

 

 

Report F-3

AICMEU’s Bait Al Zakat has adopted 102 widows for monthly stipend. The plan of reference and guidance of other destitute and widows towards other agencies was not implemented for unavailability of proper information and lack of coordination. The brief annual distribution report of AICMEU’s Bait Al Zakat is as below –
